These are photos capturing special moments when I looked up, or out into the vastness and savored profound glory. Feelings of peace, wonder, awe and tremendous joy filled my heart.
I captured this magnificent scene on August 29, 2014 at Richland College during a quick walk break at work. Looking west as clouds begin developing into towering cumulus and eventually thunderheads.
At dusk, thunderheads arise like waking giants, ascending into celestial mountains. Shot on telephoto setting, they dance 80 miles from my location, or between Ft. Worth and Abilene, TX. Captured August 16, 2014.
This system slowly works eastward, and eventually produces a magnificent pre-dawn lightning show in our neighborhood.
Yea!!! I caught it! Pure child-like ecstasy and joy fills my heart anytime I catch a magnificent lightning bolt. Captured around 4:45 a.m. from the same location I filmed the previous photo, this is one of my very best lightning bolts. All one discharge. August 17, 2014.
Yet another gasp of pure delight! This jelly fish- looking discharge lands between my car and a nearby parking lot light. Another one of my best and most interesting lightning photos, also taken before dawn on August 17, 2014.
